Payments are due at the end of each session. You may pay with cash, check (payable to: Live Better), debit or credit including HSA and FSA cards. A credit card is required on file. We keep your information on a secure HIPAA compliant portal. Your information is only visible to you. This is required to process payments at the end of session (if that is your preferred method of payment), or to process any balance accrued from unpaid insurance claims, telehealth sessions, missed appointments etc. Receipts are sent upon charge via email.
Sahar Akhtar is an in-network provider for Aetna. Saad Haye is an out-of-network provider for Aetna. We also work with students from UPenn and Drexel who have Aetna Student Health Insurance. UPenn students typically pay $45 per session and Drexel students typically pay $75 per session. If you don't have Aetna or Aetna Student Health insurance we recommend calling your insurance company to see what percentage they would reimburse for out-of-network mental health outpatient psychotherapy.
We reserve a few spots in our practice for clients who are facing genuine economic hardship and are unable to pay our full rate. Spots are limited and fill up pretty quickly. Ultimately the goal is not that we are your therapists, the goal is that we help you find a therapist who is the best fit for you and your budget. Therapy won't be a helpful space if you are stressing about your money, and if your therapist is doing the same. Email & Texting
It is important that you are aware that email is not completely confidential. All emails are retained in the logs of internet service providers. While under normal circumstances no one looks at these logs, they are in theory available to be read by the system administrators of the internet service provider. If you choose to contact by email, you are assuming all risks regarding the confidentiality of any information you send by email. We do not provide counseling via email or text.
If for some reason you are unable to make it to your appointment please provide 24 hours notice to avoid being charged for your session. Insurance providers do not cover missed appointments. We send appointment reminders via email 48 hours in advance.
